WHY MAKE YOUR LAST NAME YOUR DOMAIN NAME?

Registering your last name as a domain name guarantees that you will never have to miss another email due to email address change.
There are some times when you give out your email address that you want it to be permanent, for example the email address you give to the bank or government.
There are times when you give out an email address and you want it to be temporary, for example when signing up for free stuff on the web.
Should these two things be the same email address? 
NO.
By registering your own domain name, you can create multiple accounts.
Example:
You can register: Blaugh.com as your domain name.
Then you can create the following email address:
joe@blaugh.com
j@blaugh.com
joseph@blaugh.com.
This can be done for every single person in your family as well.

Tips
If your desired domain name is already taken, consider using hyphens, plural forms, numbers, letters, or supporting words, keeping in mind that it should still make sense.

By default, we use the .com extension when searching online. If you can get the .com for your website, then get it. Otherwise, you can consider a .net, .ca, .
