OVER-QUOTA MESSAGE FROM PERPETUAL SOLUTION SUPPORT TEAM
So, you've got 400+ messages in your mailbox, and you're getting an "over-quota" message from Perpetual Solution.
Here's where to start cleaning things up.
If you use a standard pop-mail client, like Outlook, Netscape Messenger, or Webmail, each has an option to remove messages from the server once you've read them. This won't delete them from your inbox, but it will make sure that it's not leaving copies to pile up on the server side of things.
Outlook
When in your inbox, click on Tools, and then Accounts..
This will bring up a box with a list of the mail accounts configured on your computer. Highlight the email account with Perpetual Solution by clicking on it, and click on the Properties/Change button on the right hand side. Click on the tab that says More Settings
Click on the tab that says Advanced
At the bottom, there's a check box under "Delivery Options" that reads
Leave a copy of messages on server
Uncheck this box OR Click on Leave a copy of messages on server and select the number of days, 5 to 10 days is reasonable.
Click Apply, then OK
You're done.
Netscape Messenger
With your inbox open, click on Edit and select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings from the drop-down menu
Select the option on the left that says Server Settings
Uncheck the box that reads Leave messages on server
Click OK
MacOS X Mail.app
Select the "Preferences" option from the "Mail" menu
Select your MartNet Mail Account from the list of Mail Accounts and click the "Edit" button.
Click on the "Advanced" tab at the top of the Accounts window.
Check off the box that reads "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message"
There are options for specifying when to remove messages from the server. We recommend the default, "Right Away" but it's up to you to decide. You can also click the "Remove Now" button to remove messages from the server immediately, which is useful if you are over your disk quota and trying to clean things up.
Click OK to save the changes
